"CONTEMPORARY COOL
When designers Fiona McKeith and Roger Copestake had children, they embarked on a mission: to prove that family holiday homes could look just as stylish as their favourite boutique hotels. The Look Out is proof of the pudding, a startling penthouse-style pad on four storeys, decked in nautical chic and with a gull’s-eye view of Seahouses harbour. Altogether the couple have overhauled 25 fishermen’s roosts along the Northumberland coast, adding funky, family-friendly interiors to every one of them

This contemporary country/coastal barn conversion is one of our two bedroom properties in the collection. It is a favourite with couples and small families and joined the collection last year and was immediatley awarded 5 stars from VisitBritain for 2007 and then again for 2008. It is perhaps more spacious downstairs than some of our 3 bedroom cottages and the big draw, is the separate snug room, which is ideal for keeping the children quiet for a while! With a squashy sofa, TV, DVD player and piles of books and games, this little room has bags of interest.

This 200 year old stone double-fronted fisherman's cottage holds a prime position in the village of Craster with commanding views over the harbour. Its quaint period architecture belies the owners’ forward-thinking philosophy, evident externally from the solar panels on the roof, and internally from the stunning contemporary styling and the presence of so many 21st century luxuries.
The owners have spent almost a year painstakingly renovating this former fisherman’s cottage and it will soon be ready to offer the warmest of welcomes to Coastal Retreats guests with its thoughtfully designed interior and finishing touches. Within steps and sight of the Harbour Master's House, these two cottages booked together will be ideal for groups of friends and families holidaying together.
Well known for Dunstanborough Castle and Robson's smokery, Craster is a delightful place to stay. With Alnwick just 10 minutes drive away, Embleton just up the road and Walkworth within an easy 15 minute drive, Craster is centrally placed for exploring all the well known sights of the Northumberland Coast. The walk from Craster village, along the rocky and rugged coastal edge to Dunstanborough Castle, is one of the most popular walks in the North East. The iconic outline of the castle is known to many and will become quite familar to those booking the Craster Retreat.
