Sailing North East is a professionally run yacht sailing organisation which specialises in taking people from all backgrounds and ages to sea, where they can experience the magic of sail. We operate a large ocean going yacht from Hartlepool Marina, and cruise extensively around the British Isles, across the North Sea and beyond.

Sailing North East originally founded in 1996,  has become the premiere adventure sailing organisation on the north east coast.  Over the years we have built up considerable experience in bringing the sport of offshore sailing to the general public.

Our main aim is to give people the opportunity to sail a big yacht offshore, be it for pure enjoyment, sail training or to aid in gaining recognised qualifications.  Our client base includes major companies utilising our services for Corporate Hospitality and Staff Incentives, schools and college students participating in the Tall Ships Race and individuals or groups looking to experience the thrills offshore sailing.

All our yacht is skippered by highly experienced commercial yachtmaster, whose primary concern is your safety and enjoyment. Whilst sailing with us you will have ample opportunity to be involved in the running of the vessel. You will become crew not cargo! Be it hoisting sails, using GPS/VHF/MF radios, devising complex passage plans and even preparing a meal for other crew members in sometimes challenging conditions.  You will gain an understanding of satellite navigation systems, safety and collision regulations and the weather first hand.

The challenge is to do something different.  Set the sails, switch off the engine, feel 17 tons of boat bite the wind, heel over and cut through the waves.  No noise except wind, sail and water.  Be part of a team to pilot your yacht to a pre-determined port or anchorage.  An unforgettable test of human skill, judgement, teamwork and communication against the elements. 

Where do we sail 2008?

We will tailor any trip you want, be it a sail around Hartlepool Bay, or a more adventurous voyage to an exotic overseas location.

Corporate Hospitality

Sailing North East has played host to both large international companies and smaller local businesses for many years.

We will give your clients a positive experience they will never forget.  Sailing is a sport that refreshes the body and relaxes the mind.  Give your guests an exhilarating and unique opportunity to explore the world of offshore sailing aboard our vessels.

Corporate Day Sails. 

This is your chance to do something different for your clients. Your guests will be welcomed on board and treated to an experience they will never forget. Food and drink packages will be tailored to suit your requirements and everything needed for a great trip is included in the deal. The skipper will happily involve everyone in sailing the yachts, whether they are complete novices or hardened seafarers.

Weekend Sails. 

Longer trips can also be arranged if you guests want to sail to further destinations.  Again they will experience 'hands on' sailing, ranging from watch keeping to devising our passage plans or can simply be entertained as passengers.

We always encourage guests to be involved with sailing their vessel, as we believe it to be a rewarding and challenging experience.  However, if your clients simply want to sit back and enjoy the ride our crews are more than qualified to manage the yacht.
